We establish our headquarters in Malaga, to better serve our clients in Spain and to expand our operations in the Mediterranean.
Our History
Nautilus Dragados was born on the coast of Norway, where it began its journey into the world of dredging and marine cleaning. With a clear vision to protect and restore marine ecosystems, the company moved to Malaga, Spain to expand its mission. Our mission is to offer innovative and sustainable solutions for the maintenance and restoration of ports and beaches, always committed to the preservation of the environment. Our vision is to be a leader in the sector, standing out for our ecological responsibility and the quality of our services.
Our background
The Nautilus team has more than 20 years of experience in maritime infrastructure projects in Sweden. Together we have been working at sea for more than 100 years. The basis of the business from the beginning was dredging, harbour/marine maintenance and construction work.
Over the years, the Nautilus team has specialised in environmental dredging and harbour maintenance. We also develop skills and methods for beach restoration by pumping sand back onto beaches after storms. Combined with methods from our environmental dredging section, we can store the sand for later use if required.
The construction of pars, barriers and breakwaters has also been a regular project.
Success in Sweden
The Nautilus team together started a shipbuilding company in Sweden in 2000. With entrepreneurship, the company grew to employ 200 employees with a turnover of 20 million euros, making it the largest organically growing marine company in Sweden.
Certified with ISO certifications for environment, quality and occupational health and safety by The Norske Veritas (DNV). As of 2018, the main focus is on marine environmental projects, ports, marinas, rivers and beach dredging.
The team has developed a method and a working system to safely extract and dewater sediments from the sea and rivers and reduce the transport and treatment of waste by more than 80% compared to conventional methods.
For these solutions they received a prestigious award at the Ernst and Young ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ gala in Sweden.
Starting in the Mediterranean
As the owner Johan Eriksson’s family had moved to Spain, he wanted to follow them to spend more time with the family. In 2018 the company in Sweden was sold to one of Sweden’s largest construction groups.
With a passion for marine life, and the knowledge gained from successfully establishing and developing a leading marine environmental company in Sweden, it was natural to start in the Mediterranean based in Malaga.
We believe we can make a difference with our combined experience in these fields.
Management team
The management team consists of Swedish production managers and Spanish administrators. We strive to create a marine environmental services company that is able to manage the whole process of a marine project.
The management team has worked all their lives in the shipbuilding industry and started together a shipbuilding company in Sweden, which when sold to one of the largest construction groups in 2018, employed 200 workers and with a turnover of 20 million euros, had become the largest organically growing shipbuilding company of all time. Certified with ISO environmental, quality and occupational health certifications by The Norske Veritas (DNV) .
From 2018 onwards the management team’s focus was solely on environmental dredging, marinas, ports and beach maintenance and together they developed a method and working system to safely remove and dewater sediments from the sea and rivers, reducing transport and waste treatment by more than 80% compared to conventional methods.
They now focus mainly on marine environmental projects, dredging of harbours, marinas, rivers and beaches.
For these solutions they received a prestigious award at Ernst and Young ́s ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ gala in Sweden.
Our Technical Team
Meet the machinery behind Nautilus Dragados, our driving force in dredging and marine cleaning.
We are starting our operations here in Spain with a fleet of dredgers and harbour barges. All specially designed for dredging ports and marinas, as well as for beach regeneration projects such as:
- Pumping of sand and sediments from beaches.
- Construction of wave protection, etc.
All these vessels are modern, with the latest marine engines and designed for minimum CO2 emissions. Mobility is a key factor and most of our equipment is adapted for truck transport and mobile crane lifting.

Solutions

Dredging of Ports, Rivers and Coasts
We offer river and harbour dredging services to maintain navigability and safety by removing accumulated sediment and debris.

Algae containment and recycling
We have containment systems that prevent invasive algae from reaching the beaches while facilitating their removal and recycling at sea.

Beach Restoration
We use sand pumping techniques to restore eroded beaches to their natural beauty and functionality.

Coastal Protection
Geosynthetic container system for coastal protection as an economical and natural alternative to breakwaters and concrete.
