After more than five years of joint development between Nautilus Dragados and the manufacturer, the assembly of a machine destined to mark a turning point in the global sustainable dredging industry has begun in Malaga.
This new amphibious dredger stands out not only for its advanced technical capabilities but also for its extraordinary dimensions, which place it in a class of its own. Its size is almost double that of the largest amphibious dredgers currently in existence worldwide, making it an unprecedented machine in the sector.
Designed to tackle the most complex projects, it combines enormous production capacity, a powerful high-performance suction pump, great working depth, and exceptional amphibious mobility, allowing it to operate effectively in areas where other solutions are insufficient or simply unfeasible.
Behind this machine lies more than five years of research, design, engineering, and refinement. Thousands of hours of work dedicated to developing equipment capable of redefining international standards for amphibious dredging.
The video shows the first phase of assembly at our facilities in Malaga, where a machine begins to take shape that represents the evolution of an industry and the materialization of a shared vision between manufacturers and engineers.
Specifically designed to operate in ports, beaches, rivers, reservoirs and sensitive aquatic ecosystems, this amphibious dredger represents a new generation of solutions for the maintenance and recovery of marine and hydraulic environments.
Its advanced dredging system allows for the selective and controlled extraction of sludge and sediment with near-surgical precision, minimizing environmental impact and significantly reducing turbidity and the effect on surrounding ecosystems. This operational precision makes it an especially effective tool for environmental restoration projects, improving hydraulic capacity, restoring draft, and sustainably maintaining port and river infrastructure.
In addition to its extraordinary production capacity, the machine incorporates a powerful suction pump capable of transporting the extracted materials several kilometers away through pumping pipes, eliminating in many cases the need for auxiliary transport and reducing both operating costs and the environmental footprint of the operations.
The result is a solution that combines power, precision, and sustainability, enabling dredging operations to be carried out with an unprecedented level of efficiency and environmental responsibility. This technology was developed to address the current challenges of ports, coastlines, rivers, and reservoirs, where environmental conservation is as important as the effectiveness of the intervention.
Nautilus Dragados is proud to lead an international project from Andalusia, demonstrating that innovation, engineering, and industrial capacity can place us among the world’s leading companies in the sector.
We’re not just building another dredger… We’re building a machine that redefines the limits of sustainable amphibious dredging.
“It’s not simply about moving sediment. It’s about restoring ecosystems, recovering hydraulic capacity, and ensuring the sustainability of ports, beaches, rivers, and reservoirs through a technology capable of acting with the precision of a scalpel and the power of a large industrial infrastructure.”
