On June 11 and 12, Nautilus Dragados had the honor of participating in the International Sailing Summit – III Professional Meeting of Nautical and Marinas, one of the most important events in the nautical and port sector of southern Europe, held in Malaga and organized by Suncruise Andalucía and Mar de Alborán, together with the Public Agency of Ports of Andalusia and the Port Authority of Malaga.

Our company was selected as one of the six companies participating in the exclusive Workshop & Networking “A Recreational Port of the 21st Century”, a space designed to present innovative solutions aimed at marinas, port authorities and companies linked to the blue economy.

During the event, our CEO (accompanied by our Logistics and Institutional Relations Director, Toni Fernandez) presented Nautilus Dragados’ activities, highlighting our specialization in:

• Sustainable dredging.
• Restoration and maintenance of marine, coastal and river environments.
• Cleaning of port bottoms and navigable channels.
• Environmental solutions for maritime infrastructure.
• Application of innovative technologies to minimize the environmental impact of operations.

Participation in this meeting allowed us to share experiences with leading companies in digitalization, underwater robotics, marine monitoring and technological innovation, as well as establish new relationships with those responsible for marinas, public administrations, investors and operators in the nautical sector.

The International Sailing Summit has established itself as a leading forum for addressing the challenges and opportunities of the marinas of the future, especially in areas such as sustainability, digitalization, investment and the protection of the marine environment.

At Nautilus Dragados, we would like to thank the organization for the invitation and the opportunity to present our project to some of the main players in the maritime and port industry.

We continue working to become a national and international benchmark in sustainable dredging and solutions for the conservation and improvement of marine ecosystems.

Because protecting our ports and coasts is also building the future of the Blue Economy.

Recognition of Nautilus Dragados’ role in the Blue Economy

During the meeting, several institutional representatives highlighted the importance that companies like Nautilus Dragados have in the development of the Blue Economy and in the sustainable transformation of port environments.

Among them were Mr. Gerardo Landaluce Calleja, president of Suncruise Andalucía and Mar de Alborán and president of the Port Authority of the Bay of Algeciras; Mr. Carlos Rubio Basabe, president of the Port Authority of Málaga; and Ms. Esther Molina Crespo , the managing director of Suncruise Andalucía and Mar de Alborán, highlighted the need to promote innovative projects such as Nautilus Dragados, which are focused on the restoration, regeneration and conservation of marine ecosystems linked to ports and coastal areas.

During the interventions and meetings held throughout the day, special emphasis was placed on the role played by Nautilus Dragados in the application of sustainable solutions for the recovery of seabeds, the environmental improvement of port infrastructures and the regeneration of coastal areas, actively contributing to the sustainability and development objectives of the Blue Economy promoted by the administrations and port organizations.

Furthermore, the presence of top-level representatives from the maritime-port sector allowed for an exchange of views on the challenges and opportunities facing marinas and commercial ports in terms of sustainability, technological innovation and environmental protection.

Among the authorities attending the meeting were Mr. Ignacio Álvarez-Ossorio Ramos, Director General of the Public Agency of Ports of Andalusia, and Mr. José García Fuentes, President of the Port Authority of Motril, along with other institutional leaders, port managers, technology companies and experts linked to the development of the Blue Economy in Spain.
