On April 15, the Nautilus Dragados team participated in a technical visit to the Guadiana River in Badajoz, together with Grupo Eulen, in coordination with the Guadiana Hydrographic Confederation, with the aim of analyzing on the ground the actions necessary for the recovery of the riverbed.

A large-scale environmental problem

The intervention addresses two critical challenges:

  • The accumulation of mud in the riverbed, which reduces the hydraulic capacity of the river.
  • The proliferation of the Mexican water lily, an invasive species that is seriously affecting the ecosystem.

During the day, the most affected areas could be assessed on-site and possible courses of action could be defined.

Nautilus Dragados: unique technology in Spain

In this context, Nautilus Dragados has been identified as the only viable solution at the national level to address this type of action, thanks to its distinctive technical capacity:

This technological combination allows for precise operation in sensitive environments, minimizing environmental impact and optimizing execution times.

Collaboration with major players in the sector

The visit included the participation of:

  • Antonio Herrero Carmona (Environmental Manager for Extremadura at the Eulen Group)
  • Fran Manen- CEO de Nautilus
  • Toni Fernández – Director de logistica de Nautilus

The involvement of Grupo Eulen, together with the coordination of the Guadiana River Basin Authority, reinforces the strategic importance of this project and the need for specialized solutions.

Commitment to the recovery of the natural environment

This project positions Nautilus Dragados as a key player in the restoration of river ecosystems in Spain, consolidating its role as a leading technical partner for public administrations and large companies.

We continue working to offer innovative and sustainable solutions to the country’s major environmental challenges.
